But fast forward to today, and that Magic Mirror looks a little cracked. In its quest to sprinkle some modern pixie dust on the classic, Disney has conjured up a nightmare of skepticism and backlash instead. However, just when the studio thought the worst thing they would face was lukewarm ratings, along came the unlikely plot twist with clips of Gal Gadot going viral, but not with the kind of fairytale ending they had hoped for. 

An X user recently had a field day nitpicking Disney’s Snow White with a Gal Gadot snippet circling social media. Gadot portrayed the Evil Queen, Snow White’s power-hungry and envious stepmother, consumed by an insatiable desire to be the fairest of all. In the clip, she looks at the Magic Mirror and lashes out at someone standing behind, asking, “Are you against me too?”. Taking a brief pause, she turns around swiftly with a tilt of her neck, reiterating with a growl, “Are you? Yes or no?”.

The X user shared the clip with a curious caption, wondering in amusement instead of amazement, “How did the cameraman not burst into laughter everytime they had to film her?”. While Snow White has already confronted her fair share of collective side-eye from fans who refuse to give it a chance, as it turns out, the audience reception was never really the biggest hurdle. It is only the beginning, with fans seizing on its creative missteps to expand their vaults of trolls and mockery.

Though it seemed like Snow White had already hit rock bottom as IMDb’s lowest-rated film, with the buzz growing more bitter than sweet with each passing minute, fans have been cracking in disbelief that Gal Gadot “can’t even look angry.” 

The live-action Snow White has encountered opposition on various layers, including casting, modern take, Rachel Zegler’s remarks, suitability for the role, and, unfortunately, Gal Gadot’s acting skills. Fans have not only been critical of Gadot’s performance but have also been dissatisfied with her accent. However, this clip seems to have pinned the final nail in Disney’s coffin as netizens show increasingly split opinions.

Most fans attributed Gadot’s lack of expression to the crux of Snow White’s tanking.

Meanwhile, a few folks found the hate a bit baseless. However, only a select few could hold their ground as the venom spread far and wide.
