Hailing from the planet Krypton, Superman is undeniably one of the most iconic superheroes. With a history that extends over four decades, there is not one but many interpretations of the hero. Over the years, several actors have donned the cape on the small and silver screen, including fan-favorite Henry Cavill. While all these performers added their flair to Superman, portraying different facets of the DC hero, fans have noticed a unique likeness shared by the four standout actors.
A superfan took to X (formerly Twitter) to talk about a rather peculiar insight he drew from the rich history of Superman actors. And unlike an acting trait or a fitness journey, it all boils down to a piece of clothing. The post featured four Supermen- Henry Cavill, Jeff East, Tom Welling, and Tyler Hoechlin. These snaps pointed out that not only do these actors wear the same red cape on-screen, but also donned a chic red checkered flannel. With this, fans now expect David Corenswet to follow in the same footsteps, hailing it as a “requirement” for Superman: Legacy, just like Tom Holland carried the Spiderman tradition in The Crowded Room.

While the fans put forward this unique arc for this iconic character, this certainly was not the only similarity actors shared. From having chiseled faces to gleaming blue eyes, most of the stars who played had striking features. So much so that Corenswet’s transformation for Legacy has been constantly compared to Cavill. New pictures of the actor after his Superman bulk-up fueled these comparisons more and set the internet abuzz.
Now, with this new post, fans agree that for Corenswet to be Superman, he needs to wear a checkered flannel too.
Fans cherish the striking similarity between Supermen
For Superman, fans are always ready to hop onto the ship of discussions and debates. So naturally, they did not waste time and flooded the threads with their views right after seeing this post. Many requested James Gunn to add a scene in the upcoming film Superman: Legacy, where Corenswet wore this outfit. Others celebrated this moment and stated that real men wear red flannels, giving an MCU reference by calling it a “cannon event.”

Fans could not get enough of this moment and gushed over the moment.
Not a big surprise, since that material was originally from Krypton, specifically the product of the house of El. Back there it was called "Flann-El"
