Eric Kripke recently shared a tweet ahead of addressing the San Diego Comic-Con panel for The Boys. The writer and producer wrote, "This is gonna be really f**king epic. Plus a couple surprises". The event will see the entire ensemble of The Boys, except Karl Urban, aka Butcher. Kripke shared this tweet right before he celebrated the Prime Video series’ milestone of exceeding 55 million viewers since premiering July 21 on the streaming platform, surpassing the third season by 20% through 39 days post-premiere.

The filmmaker also posted a snap of himself heading towards the Comic-Con event from his car, with a caption saying, "Alright #ComicCon, show me what you got". While it is evident that Kripke cannot wait to greet The Boys fans at the San Diego event, his promise of surprises has led them to come up with wild theories regarding what is in store for season 5, which is also the final season.

In the post-credit scene for The Boys season 4 finale, fans saw Homelander finally getting the intel on where Soldier Boy was captured. Considering that Homelander was clearly emotional at seeing his dear not-so-old dad, with a tear rolling down his face, there is a chance that he could wake Soldier Boy up. And fans are really hoping that this is the surprise Eric Kripke has been teasing, as they want to see the power struggle between the two in season 5.
While some users guessed that there could be a Homelander or "Butcher prequel show", others wished for old characters returning.
