There are only a select few who enjoy the esoteric privilege of having a family or family-in-law history so rich that they can go on to give Oprah Winfrey an hour-long interview of the same and still have more to say. A known resident of this thin territory is the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle. If the Sussexes’ stories of less than half a decade can cause an impact so huge provided that Oprah Winfrey asks just the right questions, one cannot even fathom what a Britney Spears interview with Oprah Winfrey could do.

There are not enough pages in the world that could do justice to the impact that the 41-year-old has had on pop culture. But if the words came from the horse’s mouth in front of Oprah Winfrey, they might do the trick.

While Spears’ impact on the music industry itself is worth thorough textbook research, her struggle with conservatorship and her own family will prove to be Greek. Her fight with conservatorship is not merely social media or family drama spanning just a couple of years before she flies out to live in a mansion, but a tale of numerous court cases and forced rehab admission over decades. Rightfully said by Britney Spears herself, “For me, it’s beyond a sit-down proper interview.”

In an audio recording released last year, the 41-year-old pop icon shared with fans just a fragment of the trauma she has endured. The twenty-minute recording features Britney Spears saying that she was offered tons of money to do an interview with Oprah. And owing to the bombshells she was set to drop against a fraught institution, many envisioned her doing a Meghan Markle-style Oprah interview. However, the singer rejected the offer.

And with the announcement of her single with will.i.am, Spears, has answered both of these questions.
