“Brilliantly made” – Arnold Schwarzenegger Shares His Thoughts About Greta Gerwig’s Blockbuster Film ‘Barbie’
Barbie is arguably one of the greatest creations of Greta Gerwig that the world witnessed in July 2023. Or one can say its arrival on the silver screen marked a historic moment in cinema history. While the actor had not been on the front lines of the frenzy when the movie was first released, months later he opened up about not just how much he loved Gerwig’s Barbie but also how he could have been a part of the same.

Arnold Schwarzenegger recently appeared on the episode of BBC Breakfast hosted by Colin Paterson. The host and the Austrian talked about his new book Be Useful and his elaborate career. In the conversation, the actor revealed the last time he went to the theater was for Barbie and praised it as “brilliantly made.” Schwarzenegger told BBC that he would have also rushed to play Ken had he known of the role before the release.
“There’s a good character in there,” Schwarzenegger stated cheerfully. This is ironic considering the fact that the Austrian Oak’s rival, Sylvester Stallone, had been the gospel for Ryan Gosling’s character when he was portraying Ken in the movie. Given that talk of a Barbie sequel has not hushed down, perhaps there may be a chance for The Terminator actor.
While the actor chose Ken as a role, he would have loved to play and remarked that Barbie was a bombastic success, he also went on to express his distaste towards the depleting era of superstars.
