But who would have imagined that the Gossip Girl alum would find herself on the other side and actually try one of these Gen Z trends out for herself? There is more to Gen Z makeup trends than just blush blindness and faux freckles, and Lively recently stumbled upon one that brought back some painful memories of her high school makeup experiments. 

Right after husband Ryan Reynolds’ birthday bash, it seems like Blake Lively has dusted off her social media comedy routine and jumped back in after a brief hiatus.

Blake Lively recently took to her Instagram to show her new look as she embraced the Gen Z “eyeshadow lip trick,” which is supposed to make one’s lips look fuller. This look was created for her by celebrity makeup stylist Carolina Gonzalez. While it seemed from her first story that Lively might not have been entirely convinced by the trend- especially with that ominous “But then…”- her follow-up story revealed a different side of the story.

Lively reminisced about the method she used in high school to make her lips look “huge.” She would apply lip gloss with “alarming amounts of chili peppers” for that plumping effect. However, this new Gen-Z trend showed her that one can achieve plump lips in a “way less painful” manner. Lively then humorously thanked Gonzalez for not turning her mouth into an episode of Hot Ones, where her husband suffered quite a bit earlier this year. Speaking of whom, Ryan Reynolds recently celebrated his birthday with a bash.

Not only was Reynolds seen having a great time with his wife Lively, but he also attended the concert of their best friend, Taylor Swift.

Ryan Reynolds had more than one birthday celebration this year. First, he marked his 48th birthday on Broadway by watching the musical & Juliet with his wife, Blake Lively, and their three eldest kids. The couple also posed for photos with the cast backstage alongside Reynolds’ longtime friend, Rob McElhenney. Following this family affair, Reynolds and Lively continued their celebration at the Eras Tour.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were spotted fully embracing their inner Swifties at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. The Hollywood power couple seemed completely in their element among the other enthusiastic fans, dancing and singing along to Swift's hits, as was evident in the videos circulating from the event. That said, it appears that the curse of It Ends With Us has officially lifted, and the couple is back in the swing of their social media game.
