Colleen Hoover’s thought-provoking romance novel, It Ends With Us, created a wave with the hauntingly beautiful story of Lily and Atlas. So it wasn’t a surprise when a movie adaptation of the bestselling book made headlines. What followed was the casting news of Blake Lively, Brandon Sklenar, and Justin Baldoni. While the news had been floating around, it was only after witnessing the pictures of Lily and Atlas from the sets that it truly sunk in.

The lovebirds in the book, Lily and Atlas, managed to draw even those who didn’t have an affinity towards books to fall in love with them. Therefore, Blake Lively and Brendon Sklenar are working on reaching the bar that was set too high by the fictional characters, as evidenced by the recent pictures from the set.

For now, it seems like Blake Lively and Brandon Sklenar are creating magic as Lily and Atlas. Pictures from the sets showed a red-haired Lively and Sklenar in a white t-shirt hugging each other. The picture is setting the mood for the emotional rollercoaster that the movie is going to be.

That Lively and Sklenar were going to put forth a commendable performance was clear owing to their years of experience. Despite the actors being rom-com frequents, fans remained skeptical of whether they will get Lily and Atlas’ adorable relationship right.

While the pictures from the set have erased the doubts, fans now have another bone to pick with the creators.

When you add to any movie the name of an actress as loved as Blake Lively, it is immediately welcomed with joy. However, that did not seem to be the case with It Ends With Us. The book’s protagonist is only 23 years old whereas Lively is a whole decade older.

The casting of older actors in younger roles is nothing unheard of in the movie industry, yet it has driven a majority of the book’s fandom to write in detail the fault in the casting. And those who did not have qualms with the Gossip Girl alumni taking on the role of Lily were also stirred by the styling of the character.

The stylist seems to have paid extra attention to Lily being a flower shop owner and going a little too hard on making her style overly hipster. It will be a few more months before fans can review for sure whether Blake Lively as Lily was a good decision or not.
