At first glance, the newfound connection between Ben Affleck and The Odyssey might just seem like Sir Christopher Nolan's ploy to collect a full garland of gemstones for his up and coming. But upon closer look, a certain Ben Affleck seems to have other motives for this recently expressed desire to be close to the revered director slash producer, namely, of the Oscar-winning film Oppenheimer.

Inspired by his peer, Matt Damon, who has evidently been made part of The Odyssey, Ben Affleck has made apparent his impending visit to the sets of the currently underway, aforementioned, Christopher Nolan number. In a recent interview with GQ, Affleck stated "I may go visit Matt on the set," with 'Matt' being his Oscar winning bestfriend Matt Damon, currently working for the nth time with Nolan. However, it was not to scurry his way into the already star studded cast of the movie, but "just to watch Nolan direct." Affleck who is pushing the two-dimensional actor image since a while now  made ado about following his showbiz colleague's methods of observing directorial patterns before giving a green light to a role. 

Affleck expressed that Damon made a "wise choice" early in his career by selecting roles based on the directors involved, which has significantly influenced his trajectory in Hollywood. Contrasting this with his own career path, which has included more blockbuster films rather than collaborations with prestigious directors like Steven Spielberg or Martin Scorsese, making apparent how Affleck has had to learn the importance of choosing projects that align with great directors, the hard way. Hence, following the Batman v Superman actor's desire to observe Christopher Nolan at work through his close friend of years, Matt Damon.

Ben Affleck's recent surge of swerving his acting career to new dimensions has come with a foundation of misalignments, as the actor has expressed in his past in Hollywood, specifically as Batman, that had in fact propelled him to fame. 

Ben Affleck described his experience filming Batman as a "nightmare" accredited to misaligned agendas and expectations. The actor admitted to not contributing positively and now actively avoiding similar situations as head of Artists Equity, expressing how important it is to focus on projects with goals of creators and players that correspond with each other rather than clash. This also seems to be a major setback, as the creative tensions over the darker direction of his Batman character contributed to his unhappiness, ultimately compelling Affleck to vow to never return to the superhero genre, and instead focus on projects where everyone shares a more unified vision.

 Affleck's acknowledgment of the importance of aligning with visionary directors marks a significant shift in his approach to both filmmaking and acting, which the actor desires to resolve by observing none other than world-famous Christopher Nolan at work. Aiming to refine his own creative process and avoid mistranslations similar to those of the past, in his career today.
