James Cameron is regarded as one of the best directors in the world. He stole the hearts of the audiences by putting out movies that captivated anyone who watched them. Many fans even consider him to be the one that brought sci-fi back from the dead. From films like The Terminator to the peak of his success with Titanic, the filmmaker became one of the greatest.
But even with the director coming out with hit after hit, there were still a few film ideas that never made it to a set. Just like the Spider-Man movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

In the 90s, James Cameron was in talks about creating a Spider-Man film that starred a few actors from The Terminator. But sadly, the movie would never make it past the idea stage. After the plans were dumped, the filmmaker publicly revealed the details of the plan that never made it to the surface.
The filmmaker came very close to creating the film, but it was eventually killed when the film rights switched hands. But as reported by GFR, Cameron already had it all set up in his head. Cameron even had his cast figured out. He wanted to cast Arnold Schwarzenegger star as Doctor Octopus, Leonardo DiCaprio as Spiderman, and even Michael Biehn as Sandman.
It comes as no surprise that the Austrian Oak is long-time friends with the award-winning director. But who knew that they were so close that James Cameron would want to create a whole other Spiderman movie starring Schwarzenegger?

After working on numerous hits together, it is not surprising that the duo are great friends. Having worked together for so many years, it is only natural that a bond was formed. The two have been friends since 1983 and Schwarzenegger says that they “instantly clicked.”

The pair bonded over their love for knives and motorcycles, even going on rides after working on set. Arnold Schwarzenegger also revealed that the bike ride has now become a tradition, with both men still taking out their Harleys to hit the open and empty roads.
