Henry Cavill might be breaking into a new world of fantasy with Argylle. However, back when he was still a part of Netflix’s The Witcher, the actor was questioned about his favorite fantasy series. While he could not pick just one, he ended up taking his fans through some of the best books he had read throughout his 40 years. Although he adored the work of Andrzej Sapkowski, other authors ended up topping his list.
The actor might have loved working on The Witcher, playing its video games, and getting lost in a whole new world, but it was not his first choice.

In 2021, when Henry Cavill still worked on The Witcher, the actor opened up about his dream future projects, his dog, Kal, and even his favorite fantasy authors and their series’ in a podcast with Pilot TV. The world might have expected him to choose The Witcher. However, he admitted to being an avid reader, the actor said, “It’s very difficult to have a go-to fantasy series because they’re all great.”
The 40-year-old continued by adding that both Raymond E. Fiest and Brandon Sanderson had done “absolutely brilliant work.” The actor also mentioned a book called Riftwar that he seemed to love. He also claimed that he would love to act in an adaptation of either of the authors’ books. While he might have had some creative plans in mind, it looks like the actor has other projects lined up.
After leaving the world of fantasy in The Witcher behind for a spy thriller, Cavill has found himself with a surprising lineup of projects.

Last year, Henry Cavill shocked the world when he left The Witcher. While fans were wondering when the actor would make it back to the big screen, he wasted no time at all. Shortly after leaving the fantasy show, he joined the cast of Argylle, a fantasy spy thriller. Even though the film was extremely hyped up, it did not perform very well. The next project in his portfolio is The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.
The trailer for the film recently made its way online and has shown fans that Cavill is ready for his next big adventure. Apart from the actor, Henry Golding, Alex Pettyfer, Henry Zaga, and more big names made the cast list. The film has been set to release on April 19th, 2024.
