Before Being Shunned by the Royal Family, Here Is How Prince Harry Celebrated His Birthday as a Senior Royal
Prince Harry, on his 39th birthday, is far from both his homes as he attends the Invictus Games. And while Meghan Markle has bridged the gap to join him in Germany, the royal family has refused to even join in on the celebrations. Marking the break of the significant tradition of wishing the Sussexes on their birthdays, the British monarch has ignored the Californian royal’s birthday.
While this year it is all quiet on the British front as Prince Harry celebrates his birthday, things were very different when the Duke was still a senior member of the royal family.

The drastic change of equations between the royal family and the Sussexes has led to the latter being deprived of official wishes by the official social media accounts of the royal family. But just two years ago, during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Harry not only got a tribute from the official royal account, but almost all royals raised their toasts to him. This was especially true for his 35th birthday, first-ever as a father, as Prince William and King Charles both shared a picture of a heartwarming moment with Prince Harry.
The biggest celebration, however, on his birthdays after marriage, always came from Meghan Markle. On his 35th birthday, the Duchess shared several unseen pictures of the Prince with their son. This year, not only has the royal family not acknowledged his birthday online but also his wife. But contrary to popular belief, this is not a sign of their falling marriage but a result of Markle not having a personal social media account.
Prince Harry’s 39th birthday celebration may have not come bearing grand royal celebrations or even wishes, but that does not mean it did not come with a grand celebration at all.

The Duke of Sussex prides himself in standing strong with his decision to bring to life the Invictus Games. Not only has the game unfolded to reinvent his image, as it rakes millions of views as the Heart of Invictus docuseries on Netflix but also his greatest cheerleader as he celebrates his 39th birthday.
Meghan Markle joined her husband on the benches to watch the various dramatic matches unfold during the Invictus Games. However, as an unsuspecting Duke of Sussex waited for the matches to commence, on the cue of an announcer, the stadium roared into a melody of Happy Birthday for Prince Harry. The royal family’s silence on the 15th of September may have been loud, but the Duke of Sussex could not hear it over the Happy Birthday that a packed stadium sang for him.
