Meghan Markle, after marrying into the royal family through Prince Harry, will now always find herself associated with the term ‘royal’ till the end of the times. The numerous headlines, no matter how demeaning or glorifying, marked Markle as a news staple. Even after she left the industry, there was little to no difference in the plethora of tabloids surrounding her. This gave a clear indication that senior royal or not, Meghan Markle was here to stay. But once upon a time, having unsuccessfully auditioned for several pilots, she did not believe in her worth as an actress.

The Megxit is often spoken about in a very wide context. However, a decent majority believes that it was a move made by Markle, who understood her worth and decided to count herself out of the witchhunt against her. However, this is ironic if you know about her time in the Hollywood industry before Suits unfolded to become the timeless hit it is now.

After making a blockbuster debut on television at a young age, Markle dealt with a long lull. From a short role in Horrible Bosses to a lackluster one in Random Encounters, she had to encounter failures far too many times. So much so that when she finally scored her big break as Rachel Zane in Suits, she was constantly on edge. “All of Season 1 on ‘Suits,’ I was convinced I was going to get recast,” the Duchess told Variety in 2022.

The 41-year-old’s portrayal of Rachel Zane in the legal drama became an instant hit with audiences. But it was not enough for her to swallow the growing ball of nerves that stemmed from her previous endeavors.
