Wally West came in as the third Flash but in his installment, he not only came as a faster Flash but also came with more powers. Wally's connection with the Speed Force had him mastering it, a feat not accomplished by any of his predecessors. Not only that, but West's Flash also could make concrete objects from the Speed Force and see reality faster, all very impressive feats that pit him against Barry Allen in this Flash war.

Barry Allen stands to be more popular

One cannot brush over the fact that Barry Allen was the face of The Flash for nearly half a century, he was the one featured in every virtual media including the DC Universe, DC Extended Universe, and the CW television series. Barry Allen's long-time presence made him sort of a permanent icon in many fans' minds and keeps him running parallel to Wally West.

Wally West's dedication to family

While Barry Allen's commitment to justice is highly applauded, it also puts him in all difficult situations. Wally West's concern lies more towards the family. He tends to choose actions that keep his family safe, even if this means he does not immediately act on a matter. This differentiation and thoughtful balance adds a few more brownie points to Wally West's Flash.

Barry Allen is the detective genius

An interesting fact that gives Barry Allen an edge here, is that before he took to the ropes of being the Flash, he was a forensic scientist at the Central Police Department, this only added to his role when he fought crimes, giving him a sharp eye for details. Reportedly, Batman had a lot of respect for Allen because of this, with him using his love for science and forensics to solve crimes.

Wally West got the better of the costumes

Everyone knows a superhero immediately by their costume, and it is the same with Flash. But here is the kicker, when it comes to Flash's costumes, both Barry Allen and Wally West have had their differences. While Allen's original red suit with yellow details has remained largely untouched to this day, West's costume has had its fair share of tweaks.

Wally West's costume went from the bright red and yellow kid Flash suit to darker crimson with gold accents and the mask not covering his nose as a marker of differentiating between the two. With all the changes, West seems to have gotten the better of the costumes that grew with his journey, unlike that of Allen's, which stayed to keep up with his long legacy as Flash.

Barry Allen being the finer mentor

Barry Allen's mentorship in the Flash franchise is noteworthy. He was a great coach for Wally West and Bart Allen with patience, reason, and empathy. Allen's mentorship in comparison to that of West's stands very apart as the latter's relationship with younger heroes can reportedly get a little impatient. This stark difference definitely adds a point to Barry Allen’s column.

Barry Allen holds better control of his powers

Both the famous Flash's though all about speed, bring out two different ways of using this speed. Barry tends to use his powers more thought-out and strategically tying up with his scientific background. On the other hand, Wally West is extremely fast, and he taps into this directly, like with his connection to the Speed Force that gives him the power to steal and lend speed and even create energy duplicates of himself. This ever-so-slight difference in the way they handle their powers makes a big splash of difference, putting Allen ahead.

Wally West came to be known as the fastest in the multiverse

For a long time, Barry Allen held the position of being the fastest man alive, but that time came to an end when Wally West emerged as the fastest, even faster than his mentor. In many of the comic arcs, West is seen not only matching Allen's speed but also going above and beyond like with his mastery of the Speed Force.

Wally West's unparalleled feats

Wally West takes the win when it comes to his feats. He showed abilities that even his mentor, Barry Allen, did not equal yet. For example, as remembered by fans, his greatest feat was coming out of the Speed Force and mastering it. Others include outrunning the Big Bang and clearing an entire village within 1/10th of a second. West's great feats undeniably push him upper in this debate.

Barry Allen's close ties to the Justice League

Being the Flash for the longest time comes with its perks for Barry Allen, especially with him being one of the key members of the Justice League. In the course of his time with the founders and others, he developed connections and strong friendships, especially with Green Lantern's Hal Jordan and Green Arrow's Oliver Queen giving him that little extra edge over Wally West in this case.
