Back When Tag Actor Opened Up About His Intimate Scenes With Jennifer Aniston on ‘Friends’
Friends went off air almost two decades ago, but fans continue to cherish the show and its characters. They became invested in the lives of six buddies, and especially their love interest. All of them had a fair share of dating, but Rachel Green, played by Jennifer Aniston, had the most compelling love life. In between her on-again, off-again relationship with Ross, she dated others as well. One of them was Tag, her young and attractive assistant whom she had a crush on instantly.
Though their time on-screen was fun, fans would be surprised to know how the actor felt doing intimate scenes with Aniston.

Eddie Cahill played the love interest of Jennifer Aniston in the seventh season of Friends. The show was at its peak when he got the role of Tag. In 2020, the actor talked about his experience with news.com.au. and revealed he was like a “baby deer” when he joined the show. It was overwhelming for him to do intimate scenes with Hollywood’s most beautiful woman. “There’s an intimacy between you and your scene partner, but then there’s the live audience,” he said.
He might have seemed confident while kissing Aniston, but he was nowhere near, actually. According to him, the crowd already had a bond with the characters on the show. So when Tag got close to Rachel Green for the first time, there was a lot of screaming and howling in the background. This reaction of the viewers made him more nervous, but even this experience was nothing compared to how he felt when he auditioned for the role.
In the same interview, he also recalled how the final screen test was terrifying because he was competing against a famous television star.

Eddie Cahill was living in New York when he got the call for an audition and flew to Los Angeles. The 45-year-old said he had no idea what he was doing there because he had not starred in any famous movie until then. He got more scared when he saw the Smallville star, Tom Welling, auditioning for the same role. However, the crew members put him at ease with their warm presence in the studio.
Despite having no impressive titles on his resume, producers of the show chose him over Welling. After this announcement, he called his mom and went to rehearsals instantly. The actor enjoyed his time and deeply admired Lisa Kudrow, who played the role of Phebe Buffay. “She just had something so extra special to my eye that I was in awe of her at rehearsals,” explained Cahill.
