Back When Matthew Perry Commented on Jennifer Aniston’s Journey to Blossoming Into a “Beautiful Woman”
With a net worth of $300 million, Jennifer Aniston is one of the highest-paid actresses in the world. However, it was not an overnight journey for the star to come this far. Before landing her breakthrough role in the popular sitcom Friends, Aniston faced a lot of setbacks and rejections in her career. Despite starring in a few shows in the late 80s, nothing really took off until she got David Crane and Marta Kauffman’s NBC sitcom.
While working on the sets of Friends, Aniston built some solid friendships that are still going strong even after decades. While most people go in awe seeing the bond between Aniston and Courtney Cox, there is another friend who has always been supportive of Aniston. And that is Matthew Perry.

While the entire group of Friends was popular for their camaraderie, fans always shipped their own favorite friendship pairs. Some rooted for the bromance between Chandler and Joey, and others vibed with the heartfelt bond of Rachel and Monica. However, much like in real life, the friendship between Rachel and Chandler, played by Aniston and Perry, flew under the radar. In the 2003 Oprah Winfrey interview with the cast, Perry shared his thoughts on Aniston’s journey to growing into a “beautiful woman”.
Perry revealed that Aniston has always been a hard-working woman on the sets. He also talked about her “sweet” nature, something that most people would agree with. The 54-year-old actor went on to touch upon the controversies that Aniston had to juggle with and said how elegantly she handled them. The Folls Rush In actor then said how right in front of his eyes he watched “Jen blossom into a beautiful woman”.
This was not the first and the last time Perry expressed his admiration for the Murder Mystery actress. The Numb star, who had a huge crush on Aniston, once spoke about how she managed to deal with her sudden stardom following Friends.

Perry has been on record admitting his crush on the Cake actress back in the Friends days. The actor even asked out Aniston, however, his luck did not smile upon him. Despite the mild awkwardness, both Aniston and Perry supported each other whenever they could. During a 2001 behind-the-scenes Friends interview, Perry revealed how he saw Aniston cope with her sudden stardom “really, really well”.
The actor further went on to say that Aniston worked hard to not let her popularity get to her head and overwhelm her. Even Aniston always spoke well of her co-star, Perry, and supported him during his struggle with drug addiction. In the same 2003 interview by Winfrey, Aniston revealed that Perry is “probably one of the most sensitive people” she knew. The actress also shared that The Ron Clark Story actor has always been a strong and supportive friend of her.
