Back When Jennifer Aniston Called Ex-Husband Brad Pitt “Wonderful” as the Latter Admitted to “Flubbing” the First Line on ‘Friends’

Jennifer Aniston and her shot to fame with Friends gave us the beloved character of Rachel. It also gave us the famous wolf cut, though not very trendy when she pulled it off, but very much in the trend now. Her evolution from the “daddy’s girl” to the self-sufficient individual by the end is what makes her one of the most popular characters in pop culture. Not just the fandom, but the show brought other happy memories for the actress too. She appeared on screen with her then-husband, Brad Pitt, and created a lifetime of memories with the on-screen cameo. 

While Pitt’s appearance garnered positive reactions from the audience, the cast were equally bowled over by the cameo. However, the Troy actor had a confession to make.

The Cameos and the one they found “fantastic”

In 2021 Access Hollywood has a sit down with the three female leads from Friends ahead of the reunion. They were asked who their favorite guest stars were, and Aniston and Lisa Kudrow remembered the cameo with the Fight Club actor. The Murder Mystery actress recalled how having him was great, saying, “Mr Pitt was wonderful.” Her co-star Kudrow chimed in, He was fantastic.

While the three leads of the show found his appearance on the show fantastic, a couple of years before their comment, Pitt had an interesting anecdote to add about the time.

The Once Upon A Time in Hollywood actor got candid about his time on set of the Friends in a 2019 interview with Access Hollywood. He revealed how he loved the cast, who used to have a good time with each other on sets. However, his own appearance in the show required a few takes. The 59-year-old actor recalled “flubbing” his very first lines and having to stop and start again.

Pitt played the role of Will Colbert, who was Rachel, Ross, and Monica’s schoolmate, who hated Rachel since their time in High School. His hatred towards her led to the formation of the I Hate Rachel Green club, of which Ross was a part.

Pitt’s cameo was a fan favorite since, at the time of the episode’s airing, he and Aniston were still married. The couple decided to separate later on in 2005, a decision that was hard for Aniston.

After five long years of their marriage in 2005, the famous couple in Hollywood called it a split amicably. In an interview with Vanity Fair, the Good Girl actress had “different stages of grief.” She recalled in the interview that she had to learn to rise above the pain. The public forum can be a little tough whilst going through personal hardships. But reminding herself to allow her to feel human experiences and pain all the way through helped her battle the divorce.

She got candid on The Ellen Show and said how the ending of her marriage and the show Friends landed her in therapy. Years and a new beginning with The Break-up later, Aniston today is thriving in her career. Her close friends from the hit sitcom are still part of her life, with all of them getting together to celebrate Lisa Kudrow’s birthday.
