Sydney Sweeney is a breakout girl who charted her journey up the ranks from a small town in Washington. The Euphoria actress caught the attention of many with her versatile acting range along with The White Lotus. However, she struggled a lot on her journey. Lesser known facts and hurdles make her the strong-spirited and ambitious persona she is today. Growing up in Spokane, Sweeney faced bullying and judgment in her relentless pursuit of acting.

In a 2018 interview with L’OFFICIEL, the 25-year-old revealed how she was the subject of scrutiny and bullying at the tender age of 13. In order to practice acting, Sweeney had to travel to the city of Los Angeles for auditions. However, this was the intense subject of judgment among her friends’ parents who called out Sweeney’s parents for letting her go to the “go to the hell-ridden city.”

Additionally, she went on to emphasize how the talks by the adults negatively influenced her friends who cast her out. Many would retort by distancing themselves from her or sending voicemails laden with bullying. “…my phone—my parents took it away because of the things the kids were saying,” she added. 

Amidst this, the 25-year-old had to navigate many other problems during her childhood and teenage years. Needless to say, her experience of bullying and not having access to her phone had a profound impact on her. But in a good way. She uses her past troubles were now “artistic ammunition” for her future endeavors.

Sydney Sweeney is about to have the time of her life as Sony confirmed her role as first live-action Spiderwoman in Sony’s Madame Web. As such, the actress is preparing for her role by keeping up with the comics. Additionally, she has also started prepping up her fitness with physical training and strength training. Starring Dakota Johnson in the titular role, the movie is an addition to the Sony Marvel Universe. Expected to release in early 2024, the movie shall see Sweeney exploring her way into the spiderverse.
