From releasing a trending Netflix docuseries, penning down a best-selling memoir, going on a polo trip with his friend, dancing to Beyoncé, to sitting courtside with his wife at the Invictus Games as the entire stadium belted out a “Happy Birthday” for him, Prince Harry has had a stellar year. This is quite remarkable considering the fact that the year also consisted of King Charles’ coronation, further cementing his brother, Prince William’s position as the King to be.

The Duke of Sussex has one after another continued to do whatever makes him happy throughout the course of this year. Any desperate attempts to demand apologies seem to have long been forgotten, as he enjoyed watching the result of his own hard work in Germany. But across the bond, Prince William seems to be struggling as a result of the Sussex resurgence.

The Spare author, since returning from the Coronation in the United Kingdom, has made sure to keep himself busy. Perhaps baring it all in his memoir helped him in regards to accepting the severed ties with his family because he has made no mention of them post-coronation. The success of the Invictus Games may have also served the cause greatly. While the Sussexes are yet to take advantage of the positive attention, it seems King Charles is already sealing his invitation. And this has Prince William concerned.

The Duke of Sussex does not work with the royal family anymore. However, he is still very well in line for the throne. Owing to the fact that he is King Charles’ son, the right to the throne is not something that can easily be taken away from the Duke. Not only is he in line to the throne, but he is also one of the councillors of states. According to royal expert Kate Mansey’s statement to the Palace Confidential program, Prince William is “bumped down” by Prince Harry’s increased chances of return.

Prince Harry has expressed on countless occasions following Megxit how he was grateful to have brought his family out of an allegedly toxic household. This was further cemented as the Duke expressed his guilt for not aiding his wife when she was suffering, in their Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan. Given the damage that he claims has been caused, a return to the United Kingdom is out of the question. But only if the Invictus Games result in a splurge of commendable deals.

The Sussexes have been in troubled waters owing to the lack of content they have released. This presumably resulted in their Spotify deal falling off. While they may have not released much content, the couple has spoken about wanting to produce more projects. And if that does flare as well as they hope it will, the Sussexes might just consider taking a look at King Charles’ supposed invite.
