Arnold Schwarzenegger is on a roll, doing one project after another. The actor is doing everything from writing a newsletter, books, and documentaries, and now bringing back his old classic. Classics that are still loved helped cement his career as an action hero. He may have aged through the decades but continues the action by bringing different angles to the protagonist, to suit his age.

His recent jump into the OTT platform came with Netflix’s FUBAR. Playing the role of a father, he showed off both his acting skills and ability to carry out stunts. The entertainer will be seen in a similar role again, through one of his hits from the 80s and it is not The Terminator.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has remained iconic whether his movies do well at the box office or not. Now that he is everywhere, the actor wants to re-tell the stories of his old classics in modern times. According to Giant Freakin Robot, the actor will bring back his 1985 hit Commando. It means we will see the hunky Colonel John Matrix, fighting his enemies with possibly more modern ammunition. The story is expected to be on the same lines with some twists and changes to add uniqueness and suit his age. At 79, he has maintained his fitness with his exercise regime to suit the character again.

The upcoming sequel will be called Commando: Retribution and may even bring back some of its other cast members. A young Alyssa Milano, for example, played his daughter Jenny Matrix. The movie was a box-office hit, earning about $57.5 million at the time. Much credit goes to the serious character that had some hilarious one-liners to go with the strong Austrian accent.

It resembles his FUBAR character, and fans certainly love seeing him as a powerful personality with the soft touch of fatherhood. But what was the 1985 version all about that is set for a sequel?

What was Commando about?

Commando revolved around a member of special armed forces whose young daughter was kidnapped by the mercenaries. They put forth conditions for him to release his daughter, but the protagonist knows better than to trust them. He seeks the help of a flight attendant Cindy, played by Rae Dawn Chong as they fight against time and enemies to rescue Jenny.

The upcoming movie is said to have a similar plot, but maybe a more grown-up daughter. We have already seen his chemistry playing a father-daughter duo in his debut series FUBAR, and with that topping the charts, the future looks bright for the Commando sequel.
