Arnold Schwarzenegger is a man of many credits. We are no strangers to the legacy of the Austrian Oak. He is perhaps one of the most versatile and successful individuals on the planet. While his acting and political career deserves all praise, his contribution to sports remains unmatched. Apart from being a legendary bodybuilder, the Terminator star is also a huge promoter of sports. The actor also hosts the Arnold Sports Festival yearly. And recently, an exciting new sport made its way to the iconic sports festival.

A few months ago, Schwarzenegger was enjoying the best of bodybuilders going against each other during the Arnold Festival in Columbia, Ohio. During the event, he was drawn to a different spectacle with the World Chase Tag. Not only was he in awe of the sport, the actor even plunked the World Chase Tag in the middle of the festival. It follows the most ancient childhood game, AKA the Tag but with a modern twist.

Schwarzenegger revealed to Bloomberg, “Anyone can do it, so everyone can participate,” as he enjoyed the game featured in a week-long run of events.

Founded by the Christian and Damien Devaux, the game features a chaser and one evader. The participants run, leap and lunge throughout the obstacle course known as The Quad. The main objective of the game is to eliminate the opponent. Christian started the game in his backyard in the UK and ever since, the game has significantly grown over the years.

Most of the competitors in the game are mostly from the various ranks of parkour, another sport that features some highly risky activities. Interestingly, the sport is even a part of the ESPN broadcasts, fitting perfectly into the global sports network’s alternative programming.

Aside from the newly-added sport, the Arnold Sports Festival features a multitude of events.

Started back in 1989, the Arnold Sports Festival started as a one-day bodybuilding event in Columba, Ohio. However, 3 decades later, the festival has gone through a complete transformation becoming one of the biggest sports events around the world. The event draws enormous crowd with almost 100,00 visitors.

The Arnold Sports Festival takes place as a four-day event with thrilling sports competitions and seminars and advertises various fitness products. The primary sport of the event is professional bodybuilding with the best bodybuilders from around competing. You might be surprised to that Schwarzenegger also competed in the event back in the day.
