Achieving iconic status in more domains than one, Arnold Schwarzenegger is a testament to all-encompassing excellence. Rising from a common bodybuilder to becoming a seven-time Mr. Olympia winner, he revolutionized the sport. In his journey of setting new standards for physical excellence, he also became a Hollywood superstar. From starring in timeless flicks like The Terminator to serving as the Governor of California, he has displayed his talent for leadership on many fronts.

But the one thing that remained close to the 76-year-old’s heart through it all was bodybuilding. In an effort to make fitness advice more accessible, he launched a platform called Pump Club, of which he is a fierce defender.

Schwarzenegger’s Pump Club serves as a fitness community through an app that puts out podcasts and newsletters. Recently, he retweeted a fan who made the argument for why one should read the club’s newsletters. When the user wrote that people would “be surprised” if they gave it a read, the champion bodybuilder retorted by saying that he loved “being underestimated.

Frequently active on social media, Schwarzenegger often uses Twitter, now X, to market his club in the most unusual ways. Also thanking the fan “for reading” it, he signed off his tweet with a link to his newsletter. Now that is some brilliant marketing and motivation rolled up into a straight-to-the-point tweet!

But the Kindergarten Cop actor’s Twitter feed is not all compliments and humility. When needed, he pulls out some wrathful words for those who need a dose of truth, too.

When Arnold Schwarzenegger lashed back at a doubting fan

Earlier this month, Pump Club put out a newsletter titled Let’s All Detox that detailed Schwarzenegger’s take on what should entail a detox. One fan who saw the piece was particularly dismayed that it was not about “squats or something.” The 76-year-old responded by highlighting the importance of a genuine detox, unlike other “bogus fads” that have flooded the market nowadays.

It is safe to say that the Austrian actor did not take kindly to his fan putting down the heartfelt advice that he penned down in the newsletter. Clearly, he is okay with being underestimated, but not with people that undermine his fitness advice!
