Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone have their names high up in the charts at the box office when one has to recall the greatest action heroes of the 80s and 90s. Known to the world for their unshaken stardom, this iconic duo went head-to-head due to their similar drive for fitness and action movies. As a result, the industry took its chances to make this dispute a competitive framework that sells.

However, this cinematic rivalry went off the charts when it became an off-screen phenomenon. Given this transition to extremity, their feud is said to have lasted for two long decades!

Arnold Schwarzenegger sheds light on his former relationship with Sylvester Stallon

In a recent episode of The Graham Norton Show, Arnold Schwarzenegger opened up about his relationship with Sylvester Stallone (via NME). He admitted how their war had waged “out of control” back then. Since both their emergence as the quintessential “action guy” had its own weight to add, the competition was inevitable. The Terminator actor revealed how the feud was never really restricted to “the biggest guns” or “the best body”. It was actually increasingly personal every day. As a result, not only were their respective fandoms but even they themselves were fed up.

However, to the surprise of his fans, he also cleared the air with yet another confession. The Predator actor shared how all of this is now a thing of the past. The Escape Plan stars started to grow close ever since their investment in Planet Hollywood and have starred together in many movies ever since. Given the same, the former archrival pair is now completely “inseparable”. 

Even though the Austrian Oak has managed to clarify their dynamics to the world, it becomes imperative to trace back from where it all began.

Tracing back the origins of Schwarzenegger and Stallone’s feud

Merely a few weeks back, Arnold Schwarzenegger opened up about the inception of this infamous rivalry with Stallone while promoting his new book, Be Useful: Seven Tools of Life. Talking on Marc Maron’s podcast, WTF, he admitted how the actors could not even coexist ever since the former’s career took off. He also confessed how the Cop Land actor consistently outpaced him. Perhaps both of them had similar sides to pitch for which took a toll on their personal relationship.

Reiterating similarly, The Rocky actor too revealed that his old nemesis was plainly “superior”, in the Netflix docuseries, Arnold. He added that Schwarzenegger was the “ideal action guy” and that needs no second guessing. Needless to say, such confessions imply that the long-standing competition of the veterans has reached a dead-end. And while their rivalry has had a remarkable fanbase over time, their mutual admiration seems to be reaching similar heights.
