Arnold Schwarzenegger Gives This Supplement a Thumbs-Down, Says It Is “under-dosing what you need”

Arnold Schwarzenegger has become a go-to fitness guide for millions on social media. The 76-year-old has taken on a mission to make all the couch potatoes and binge-watchers get up and break a sweat. From sharing fitness tips in his newsletter to posting videos of his workout sessions, the fitness enthusiast has been spending his retired life motivating the youth to push themselves.
After sharing a plethora of workout routines and recipes, the bodybuilder has now taken to criticizing supplements. In the latest edition of his newsletter, Arnold’s Pump Club, Schwarzenegger talked about a popular supplement that promises to maintain heart health.

Schwarzenegger always made an effort to spread the right awareness and knowledge about health and fitness. Whether it is about informing his audience about the terrible side effects of steroids or talking about isolation post-Covid, the actor always picked up overlooked subjects. Recently, in his newsletter, Schwarzenegger scrutinized a very popular health supplement that aids in heart health, or something people believed for many years. He started by saying, “The supplements are under-dosing what you need, but there’s an even bigger concern,” and then moved on to talk about the ineffectiveness of fish oil.

He highlighted various studies to show that Fish oil, aka omega 3, is not effective in maintaining cardiovascular health. The seven times Mr. Olympia quoted a study from The New England Journal of Medicine showing that more than 15000 people who took the supplement did not see a major change in their cardiovascular health. Apart from that, he also referenced research from the American College of Cardiology that suggests two or more servings of fish per week can fight heart diseases better than Omega 3.
Schwarzenegger emphasized the fact that eating real food is much healthier than taking supplements that are not as effective. Meanwhile, this is not the only time the Terminator actor debunked misleading beliefs. In one of his other editions of Arnold’s Pump Club, the actor clarified rumors surrounding a green vegetable.

Not too long ago, a rumor started circulating about Kale that rubbed all the fitness enthusiasts and nutritional coaches in the wrong way. The Golden Globe Awards winner reacted to an article that claimed Kale to be unhealthy. Schwarzenegger, who has been a strong advocate of vegetarianism, debunked the myth by discussing a crucial aspect of nutrition. The True Lies actor told his fans to not believe anything they see on the Internet without doing a proper investigation.

The Austrian Oak went on to say, “If you want to start seeing results, stop reacting to fear-driven marketing” and criticized brands for spreading such false news for clout. The 76-year-old encouraged his followers to try different methods for achieving their desired outcomes and never get fixated on one. This way they would be able to find out which method works best for them, and will also help them not trust misleading information.
