The Terminator actor witnessed the devastation following World War II and how it impacted his own life as well. Recently, when he appeared on the Jay Shetty Podcast, he talked about how he had to earn his breakfast and how his mother struggled. His father was extremely strict. Therefore, as the actor said, “We were hit many times and punished for not doing the way they thought we should do things.”

The Austrian actor remembered that, in order to have breakfast, they had to do push-ups and sit-ups while they were growing up. He also remembered how his mother used to go around “what they call the hamstering, which means begging for food” from different farmers for her children. The Predator star also admitted everything that he went through as a child affected his life today. Having a tough childhood made him understand the value of things, as he spoke in an interview elsewhere, too.

When he was growing up, they had a military around all the time. Therefore, it fascinated him to be a tank driver himself. However, Schwarzenegger did serve in the military but ultimately ended up becoming an amazing actor. After gaining a luxurious lifestyle and enough money, the now 76-year-old actor decided to give back to society as well.

Schwarzenegger tries his best to make sure no one suffers the way he did. Therefore, he has associated himself with various charities to help children’s education. He also founded charities himself to contribute as much as he could. Schwarzenegger even donated $250,000 for the homes in LA, which he talked about in his Instagram post.

He also established a foundation to help climate change and take needed initiatives. His Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative holds a conference each year to discuss environmental issues and find solutions for them as well. Arnold Schwarzenegger inspired people not only with his speeches but also with his tough life, which made him humble and grounded.
