Arnold Schwarzenegger is a man of many credits. The Austrian Oak is an exemplary individual who has dominated every single industry he has stepped foot in. From one of the most successful bodybuilders to Hollywood’s leading action hero, he has enjoyed quite a career. While the actor has tasted every bit of success there is, he has also had his share of bitter failures. Amongst the many iconic films he delivered in his career, there were a handful that did not perform well. And recently, Schwarzenegger sat down with James Cameron as they discussed his flop film.

James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger are an impeccable duo. Over the years, they have worked together on some very iconic projects together, including the Austrian’s first flop, Last Action, about which they recently shared their thoughts. The duo revealed their feelings about the Last Action Hero’s negative reception on Schwarzenegger’s documentary.

Netflix recently released a three part docu-series on Schwarzenegger’s life, covering the highs and lows of his career. While speaking about the film’s poor performance the Austrian shared, “I cannot tell you how upset that I was. It hurts you. It hurts your feelings. It’s embarrassing.“

The actor further spoke that he had reached his peak with Terminator 2 right before Last Action Hero‘s failure at the box office. Last Action Hero merely opened with $15 million in its first week before grossing nearly $50 million worldwide.

Following Schwarzenegger’s statement, Cameron spoke that he called the actor after the film’s release. Recalling the moment, the director spoke, “He sounded like he was in bed crying.” However, that is not all there is to it. Schwarzenegger during his interview with The Hollywood Reporter revealed that he feels Last Action Hero is his “most underrated performance.“

Released back in 1993 Last Action Hero follows the story of a young boy Danny Madigan played by Austin O’Brien who’s a huge movie buff. Things take a turn for the worse as Danny’s father dies. Shortly after, the kid is pulled into an action film using a magical ticket.

Interestingly, the action film’s star is none other than Jack played by Schwarzenegger. Moreover, Danny is a huge fan of the actor and the aftermath of their meet-up is hilarious to say the least. However, at the same time an evil villain from the movie steps into the real world using the magical ticket.
