An idea can often take a long time to manifest itself as a shareable piece of work. The process is even longer when that very creative itch happens to be the pitching point for a new upcoming movie that, more so, also happens to kick-start a franchise. Navigating those very challenges, logistics, and apprehensions is Matthew Vaughn with Henry Cavill and Dua Lipa in Argylle. In a quest to attract viewers, some flicks go to great lengths to put up a baity teaser but at times end up revealing crucial plot points. However, the director recently cleared the air that the same was definitely not the case for his outing.

Largely vocal and confident of his creative take, the filmmaker sat down and shared a penny for fans’ thoughts.

The former X-Men franchise director clinched a major win when he won fans’ hearts by landing their ex-Superman in a new franchise. The upcoming 2024 spy-thriller, Argylle starring Henry Cavill and Dua Lipa only happens to be the first in a trilogy aiming to take a James Bond brand approach. Meanwhile, in talks with Total Film Magazine (via Games Radar), Matthew Vaughn reiterated that the only trailer released so far has spoiled nothing for the fans.

“I want to do a trailer from the first 28 minutes, because there is some fucking mind-blowing cool sh*t.” Additionally, he also reassured fans of a “cinematic experience” when the film opens on February 2, 2024. The spy thriller will follow a meta-reality approach that has Cavill as a superspy sporting a much-talked-about hairstyle. The film’s direction and approach have landed it as a major contender for a long churning string of sequels.

An interesting revelation came from the 007 production company regarding the next James Bond outing. While fans were engaged in a tug-of-war contest for their choices of the next superspy, the producers had not even begun the work of cleaning the slate. Moreover, the only content to come from that universe following No Time To Die was a spin-off show. Incidentally, Henry Cavill could have helmed James Bond in the Daniel Craig string of films had the latter opted out.

In 2006, Casino Royale launched Craig as the next best spy to take over the 21st-century iteration of the franchise. In the meantime, impressing everyone with a stellar show in the auditions, the Man of Steel star was second-in-line to play the secret agent. The only factor that worked against him then was that he was too young. Ironically, the same age factor played out when talks emerged of Cavill succeeding Craig for he now stood too old.
