Well known for their ability to dredge up constant online ridicule, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are no strangers to controversy. However, one of their biggest redeeming qualities is their conscientious approach, which is reflected in the many noble causes they support. Through their philanthropic work, the Sussexes have touched on various issues like women empowerment and the rehabilitation of veterans. However, it was also one of these causes that they are so vocal about that landed them in trouble recently. 

It seems like the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may be preaching things they do not practice themselves.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are now deemed hypocrites

Both Markle and the prince have often touted the importance of preserving the environment for the sake of climate change. So, when they chose to ride a private jet to a mental health summit they attended earlier this month, netizens felt they had committed a huge error. Now, Sally Baker, who is a relationship expert, told Mirror UK that the couple probably shares “different levels of commitment” to the cause and needs to have “open communication” regarding it. 

According to Baker, since Prince Harry seems more committed to the cause, the couple needs to talk about it so they can present a “united front” amidst backlash. If they fail to do so, one person’s actions could lead to “frustration” in the other. This would put a strain on their marriage since they lead highly publicized lives. Meanwhile, this is not the first time this has happened. 

Despite the Sussexes’ climate change promises over the years, their actions have not changed. 

The Sussexes’ extravagant blunders

Although Prince Harry has often delivered heart-wrenching speeches on the importance of cutting back emissions, he and the Suits actress have often acted in a way that goes against the idols set by him. Before Megxit, Prince Harry would travel on a private jet even more frequently. Even during their latest use of the luxury, the couple not only flew to the summit on a private plane but also traveled on it further.

Besides this, they were also put under a lot of heat when the two arrived at an event with a flurry of convoy cars surrounding their own. Evidently, the 39-year-old does not consider the climate while releasing such an exorbitant amount of emissions through such activities. Maybe it really is time for the duo to have a conversation about what they want to portray to the world once and for all.
