‘Anyone But You’ Fans Call Out Lack of Chemistry Between Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell, Months After the Duo Sparked Dating Rumors
Sydney Sweeney made her name with Euphoria and has since been focusing on expanding her career. From being in rock music videos to starring in a rom-com, the 26-year-old is really juggling it all. Back in January, it was announced that she would be playing the lead in a then-untitled film. Not only this, it was also going to be directed by Will Gluck and had Glen Powell as the co-lead. While the initial excitement was over her starring in the movie, fan furor flocked to the sizzling chemistry and later the dating rumors between Sweeny and Powell. However, all the hype seems to have not been met in the trailer, per fans.
After months of waiting for an update on Sydney Sweeney and Powell’s upcoming film, Anyone But You, fans finally got what they wanted. However, social media users did not seem too happy about how the movie was being put forth. While the world was excited after the first look of the film was dropped, that changed rather quickly following the trailer.

The first look was more than enough to get fans hooked, but the trailer came as a disappointment. Instead of reveling in the dynamic of the duo in the film, fans called out their lack of chemistry. For fans, it may have been surprising given the fact that the two had sparked dating rumors just a few months ago, but in contrast, the trailer showed a 38-second clip of the stars at each other’s throats.
Just like any news about their upcoming film, there was a lot of buzz around the first trailer for it. Unfortunately, this time it was more about how unhappy fans of the stars were with what they had just seen.
Fans unhappy with the chemistry between Sydney Sweeney and Glenn Powell
Shortly after the trailer dropped, fans who had been waiting for months for an update took to their social media to express just how bad they thought the whole trailer was. From the lack of chemistry to the comments about their acting skills, fans just let all their disappointments flow.
Other social media users ended up claiming that Sony should “fire” whoever was responsible for the trailer, as it was just extremely bad.

With all the comments online, it looks as though the initial excitement for the film has majorly died down. However, considering fans only got a short clip as the first trailer, maybe the film could still be better than most expect. It is set to release in theatres on December 22 2023. With a little over 2 months to go, hopefully, the creators of the film can help hype the movie by that time.
