In the echelons of mainstream entertainment, only a few have managed to get a grip as strong as Henry Cavill. The fan-favorite Superman boasts a fandom that can fill several cities. Carrying a defined jawline, a stunning physical outlook, and a sense of ‘geekiness’ that echoes in shades of sheer handsomeness, the star is undeniably a gem. Long before he became subject to an unceremonious exit from DC Studios, the actor spoke his mind freely on various subjects covering every arena a fan may ever seek to ask him about.

In one such talk, the then-32-year-old actor revealed he wished to travel to another age, somewhere he believed was more suited for him.

The era of modernity has its wonders. However, The Witcher actor believed he was more suited for the past, “the ancient Egyptians, or the Greeks, or of ancient Rome, the era of the great empires,” to be precise. In talks with Vanity Fair Italy back in August 2015, Henry Cavill revealed, “And the reason is that I am a romantic. The statement being undeniably true, the charmer though, had a host of reasons for such a desire.

The age of the great empires saw a burst of creative thinking and, indeed, true romance. Although the actor also acknowledged the “violence, disease, brutality” of the times, he felt his way of living would have made him fit for the age. Currently dating Natalie Viscuso, he remains highly secretive in his private affairs but stands out as a true gentleman in every sense. Cavill also added that his romance did not remain limited to history but also “Towards life, people, women.”

2023’s The Flash erased Henry Cavill’s character from canon and proceeded with a clean slate. Alongside an exit from The Witcher, the news felt unbearable to fans. However, soon enough, X-Men franchise director Matthew Vaughn paired up alongside the actor and roped in Dua Lipa opposite him to kick-start the spy-thriller franchise, Argylle. Carrying a tinge of romance in it, the new movie will once again pitch the actor into mainstream Hollywood and make way for his grand rollout.

In 2024, one more action-spy release, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, will have Henry Cavill as the lead. Afterward, a slew of projects, including a Warhammer 40K project, a Highlander reboot, and The Rosie Project remain in the pipeline. An untitled Guy Ritchie project as well as the Squadron 42 video game await the actor.
