Besides the nights that call for Avengers to assemble, the only time superheroes are on the speed dial is throughout the week of the pumpkin festival. And this year’s Marvel-ous entry with the fan-favorite Merc with a Mouth did not only bring Marvel Jesus to the forefront but also the ultimate super duo guide for this year’s Halloween inspirations, thanks to Deadpool & Wolverine. While this is not Ryan Reynolds’ first time donning the super-suit and serving fright night inspirations, the number of tributes has made even the chatterbox choke a little this time around.

Reynolds, thus, took to social media, giving fans a taste of the joy he was experiencing by taking a trip back in time.

If Ryan Reynolds’ joining the force with Hugh Jackman ended up saving the ship for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Deadpool & Wolverine’s realization turned out to be a guardian angel for the macabre masquerade. And to witness it firsthand was no less than a dream-come-true moment for the blockbuster whisperer, Reynolds, who recently took to his Instagram handle to put his feelings into words, finding himself back at 5 years old, sharing a carousel of Halloween pictures

“You’ll never know what that’s like if you’re me,” wrote Reynolds, still in disbelief at the innumerable Deadpool & Wolverine invocations on Halloween. The actor recounted how people put their best foot forward with their superhero costumes with considerable attention to detail while quoting his dialogues and performing the chimichanga antics. With his heart practically bursting with pride, there might even be a tear or two, but Reynolds swears he is not taking a second of it for granted.

Deadpool & Wolverine gave the bounty of Halloween inspirations this year but before that, it ensured reminding the audience that it is still in the theaters. Hence, just a week ahead of Halloween, the flick launched a new ad where Marvel toys with a variety of spooky characters Deadpool & Wolverine has in store with quick wit cues like dubbing it a vampire movie by zooming in on a shot of Wesley Snipes as Blade.

While box office entries get cut short all the time, Deadpool & Wolverine has been in theaters non-stop since its July release, shattering cinematic records even now. Most recently, it surpassed last year’s highest-grossing film, Barbie, to take the 12th spot on the list of domestic box office hits of all time. But with this movie still blazing through prime-time, it is not just delivering Halloween inspiration with its Avengers-level success like Kevin Feige promised; it is also making things a little spooky for its cinematic rivals.
