Amidst the Huge ‘Barbie’ Hype, Warner Bros. Up Their Meme Game With a Nostalgic ‘Friends’ Meme That Fans Love
It rarely happens that a film becomes a huge hype even before its release. But currently, the entire world is going crazy over the release of 2 massive productions. One is Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie starrer Barbie, and another one is Christopher Nolan’s creation, Oppenheimer. While these two films are creating a strong vibration around them, Warner Bros. brought in 2 characters from a famous sitcom, Friends, asking for tickets for the Greta Gerwig film.
The ’90s sitcom, Friends, is about 6 friends living together and going through thick and thin together. While Ross-Rachel and Chandler-Monica were lauded for their romantic entanglements, Joey and Phoebe were celebrated for their steadfast and enduring friendship. Now, the recently released films, Oppenheimer and Barbie are the vibe of the time. And some fans of the show can not stop cherishing the imaginative scenario. Warner Bros.’s Twitter account posted a picture of Joey and Phoebe asking for 2 tickets to the Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie film.

Despite the two films belonging to totally different genres, fans can not stop talking about Barbie and Oppenheimer together. One of the major reasons is both films have A-listed stars. Moreover, both films hit the theaters on the same day. Therefore, despite having separate fan bases for both movies, stars could not do anything but face the ongoing online war. Because of these clashes, fans have circulated the hashtag #Barbenheimer with a meme. It has taken over the internet. Not only did the stars of the Barbie film react to this, but they also had a good laugh about it.
