Suits is perhaps one of the most popular shows on Netflix. The legal drama premiered in 2011 and has taken the world by storm since its release. Owing to the enormous success the show was for the original network, it had an incredible run for eight years. As impressive as it sounds, Suits broke viewing records as it became the most-watched show on Netflix after it was added to the streamer. Given the continued success of the show, not long ago, rumors of a reboot of the series surfaced online. 

As we all know, Suits ended nearly four years ago in 2019. However, in recent times, the show witnessed a resurgence in its popularity. Amidst all the rumors, executive producer Gene Klein shed some light on whether Meghan Markle would return in case of a reunion.

Here is what Gene Klein had to say about Meghan Markle’s return

Many of you might not remember, but Meghan Markle was an up-and-coming actress before she married Prince Harry. Her role as Rachel Zane was her most prominent gig in her acting career. However, following her engagement to the Duke, the actress had to bid farewell to the series due to her duties to the royal family. However, now that the actress, along with Prince Harry, has left behind the monarch, many are speculating whether the actress might return if a Suits reboot takes place. 

Much to the fans’ disappointment, Gene Klein revealed that the chances of it happening are incredibly low. During her interview with TV Line, Klein said, “I would assume that is just not possible.” Even though Markle’s return would be exciting, the show gave her a perfect send-off back during the fourth season with her character moving to New York. 

The perfect send-off was later followed by some of the crew members attending Markle’s wedding. But before that, they had an interesting reaction to her wedding.

In usual cases, it is not exciting news for the cast and crew whenever a beloved character leaves a series. Furthermore, considering the prominence of Markle’s character in the series, it sure would affect the show’s future prospects. However, the writers’ team, including Aaron Korsh, were rooting for the Sussex wedding.

Back in 2017, the showrunner told Radio 4’s Today that he wished all the good things for Markle in her life, even if it meant her leaving the show. Interestingly, the team was already prepared for the actress’s exit. Her romance with Prince Harry became hugely popular, so she even distanced herself from the drama. All of this made it easier for the writers to simply plan her exit accordingly.
