Will Smith has since the beginning of his career stated that the secret behind his energy and the determination to do better comes from his family. And this has not changed even as the actor went on to be crowned the king of blockbusters. No matter how hard life got, Smith always had his wife, three kids, and four Rottweilers by his side. And as things get hectic for him with his busy filming schedules, the actor’s wife has added to his happiness by bringing him home another little member.

Both the I Am Legend actor and his wife are known for giving fans a peek into their lives through social media. Keeping the tradition alive, Jada Pinkett Smith posted a picture of her new rescue puppy while revealing his name was Lucco in her caption.

Most celebrities make sure to share their spotlight with their pets. But the I Am Legend actor does not come under the category. However, this does not have anything to do with messing up his Instagram theme, but actually a sorrowful tale from his childhood.

When he was younger, Will Smith lost his dog in a car accident, which made him reluctant to ever have one of his own. However, this all changed when he starred in I Am Legend.

The post-apocalypse movie played a notable catalyst in making Will Smith one of the most well-known actors in the world. His only escape from the deadly silence proved to be his German Shepard, Sam. Much like how the dog instills humanity in Neville in the movie, it had Will Smith fawning all over him.

Owing to the ending of the first movie, Sam will not be present in I Am Legend 2, but maybe Lucco can fill up the empty space.
