Amidst Divide, Supergirl Sasha Calle Makes Her Stance Clear as She Calls Henry Cavill “Our Man of Steel”
Henry Cavill, with or without his long-standing yet turbulent relationship with DC, reminds many of the symbols of strength, justice, and, most importantly, hope. This is true, especially for the actors in DC whose journey in the superhero universe intertwined with that of Cavill and those who watched from their screens. Given the fact that he is a splitting image of the superhero, and knowing he will never be seen in the Superman costume again unearthed a range of emotions that can only be affiliated with grief and anger. Many even questioned if there is any hope left for DC. And Sasha Calle makes us believe there is.
One of the greatest sibling superhero duos in DC has to be Superman and Supergirl. But as one makes an exit, and the other makes her big entry with The Flash, fans assumed some tension between the two behind the scenes. And Sasha Calle was not for it.

Amidst James Gunn’s decision to let Henry Cavill go, it was also the fact that his dedication to DC was downplayed that further stirred the fans. And hence rose the ‘Justice for Henry Cavill’ clan. Throughout this, however, one actor that has won the hearts of both is Sasha Calle, set to impress in Andy Muschietti’s The Flash. She made her respect for the actor clear when she revealed that she asked Henry Cavill or “our Man of Steel” if she had made him proud. “I asked him, ‘Did I make you proud, cuz? Does Superman approve?’” she shared with Entertainment Weekly.
This acknowledgment of the wonders that Cavill had done as Superman was something fans craved. And Calle gained the same respect from Cavill as he said, “You did a phenomenal job.”
Two years ago when the actress was told she would be Supergirl, it reminded many of the excitement and zeal that the British actor had towards his character.

When Cavill was still a part of the DC universe despite there being a drought of Superman movies in 2021, Sasha Calle was cast as Supergirl in February 2021. And Andy Muschietti even recorded the moment he told her that she had been selected. The actress said “I am dying here,” as the director said he had some questions for her.
Sasha Calle broke down into tears as soon as she got the news and even had a freakout moment. While the circumstances were widely different from Henry Cavill’s, considering how he was so busy playing WarCraft that he almost missed the call. However, the sentiments were the same.
