The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are having quite an eventful year so far. Be it a narrow escape from the New York car chase catastrophe or the back-to-back award win, followed by the Prince’s stirring royal testimony in court, the couple has had it all. However, the New York car chase seems to have dominated the first half of the controversies that have swirled around the couple. Although it happened way back in the month of May, the story behind the blacked-out vehicles of paparazzi chasing down the couple has not gone anywhere.

In fact, following a setback, the couple has gained some new supporters in the following case. The shocking mishap on the streets of New York brought a myriad of officials under the radar. While the New York Police Department was bound to make a statement, New York’s mayor, too has chimed in on the matter. Nonetheless, they all toned it down, claiming that the incident was not as bad as the press made it seem to be. Moreover, a Sussex representative too marked the headlines as an “ abhorrent exaggeration” of what had actually happened. 

Nonetheless, a new survey by Redfield & Wilton Strategies for News Week shows citizens of America are concerned about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. According to the polls, 72% of Americans “have heard at least something” while 52% believed the couple’s account. The poll test was carried out considering a representative sample of fifteen hundred U.S. citizens towards the end of May. 

What did the officials claim about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s New York car chase?

The police department of the state made it clear that reports of collisions and injuries along their way were false. Although it is true that a hoard of paparazzi followed the couple for a long, they reached their destination safely enough with no impressions of any harm. Moreover, their own driver gave his statements about the chase, claiming, although it was chaotic, the reports kept their distance from the Sussex car. 

As the initial footage of the incident hit social media, there was a widespread rumor that the chase has resulted in multiple injuries to the locals. The mishap took place as Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made their way back to a friend’s abode after receiving a coveted award from the Ms. Foundation Team in a much-ornamented show.
