As reported exclusively by Daily Express a few days ago, New York’s Empire State Building of the United Nations dazzled in the Union Jack colors to mark King Charles’ coronation. The display painted America’s skyline from sunset until 2 am the next day on the day of the coronation. This was formerly revealed to the Express by the British Consulate General New York. The building basked in the Britain colors of red, blue, and white throughout the evening, marking the historic event.
Appearing in a press conference one day prior to the coronation, the Consul General and HM trade Commissioner stated that they are thrilled to partner with the Empire State Building. The last time the iconic building paid tribute to a royal ceremony was Queen Elizabeth’s sad demise. It thus marked the life and legacy of the former monarch. Prior to it, it also lit up for her Platinum Jubilee in the previous year. The occasion marked the glorious seventy-year anniversary of her reign, making her the only British monarch to have achieved the milestone.
World stunned to see New York bask in Britain’s Colors for Coronation
Meanwhile, in the United Kingdom, King Charles, for his part, became the oldest heir to ascend to the British throne. His Britain natives are spread worldwide; US reportedly shelters 130,000 British ex-pats to this day. They, along with the Americans, were stunned to see the grand spectacle coloring the sky.
Numerous Twitter users took to their accounts to share the sparkling colors covering the horizon.
