Ahead of Her Second Birthday, Here’s a Look Into Princess Lilibet Diana’s Life as a Sussex Thus Far

It’s birthday season for the Sussexes and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are all for it. Following their first-born Prince Archie’s much controversial fifth birthday celebration, it’s time the seventh-in-line turns two. Their youngest, Princess Lilibet Diana, has her second big day upcoming in a couple of hours. As much as a blessing she is to the Sussexes, the story behind her birth and the one prior to her is not something easy to take. The Sussex Princess opened her eyes on the fourth of June, 2021, after the infamous Megxit had already taken place. 

Hence, life for the California-born Princess has not been exactly the same as that of her elder brother, Prince Archie. The six-in-line to the throne was born within the Palace premises in the year 2019. It was not the case with Princess Lilibet. Their daughter, Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, was born on the 4th of June in Santa Barbara, California. It was on the Valentine’s of 2021 that the self-exiled couple declared they were soon expecting their second baby. In fact, one of the major highlights of the infamous Oprah Winfrey was the gender reveal to the camera before billions of eyes were on them.

Prince Harry, the father of two, could not contain his excitement at the new member of his family. “To have a boy then a girl — what more can you ask for?Prince Harry stated in the interview as per People. The Duke even stated that their daughter would complete their family of four at the moment. “Two is it,” added Prince Harry.

However, prayers are sometimes granted in ways unknown.

In fact, before Markle conceived their daughter, she had already gone through a wretched experience. As she wrote to The New York Times, the Duchess revealed that she suffered a miscarriage with her second child before having to conceive Princess Lilibet. However, all the pain and suffering vanished into oblivion as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle held baby Lili in their arms.

She is more than we could have ever imagined,” wrote the Archewell site. “We remain grateful for the love and prayers we’ve felt from across the globe.” Ever since they celebrated Princess Lili’s birthday with the proper celebration. The name that brought together two of the most famous icons of the family also resulted in a bit of a controversy.
