Though most would think it was because of the character, the real reason is the fact that the character, Argylle, is completely made up by another character, Elly’s imagination.

The trailer also confirmed that Elly controlled everything about Argylle’s appearance. Thus proving that it was her imagination that thought up the weird hairstyle as well. While it may be unknown why the character chose such a random hairstyle for a spy, there are theories that suggest that the look stems from a celebrity or a person that Elly looked up to in her childhood years. However, nothing has been confirmed yet.
