MET Gala queen Blake Lively will be skipping the event this year. The actress manages to turn heads every year with her intricate and well-thought-out attires that scream luxury and fashion. In an exclusive interview, Blake Lively revealed to PEOPLE magazine what she will be doing instead of attending the MET Gala this year on May 1st. “But I will be watching,” she joked about how she will wear her much-raved-about look from 2022 and sit on the couch to watch this year’s event.

The theme for this year’s MET Gala is Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty. The event is usually organized by Vogue’s editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. Each year, media and fans choose to rank celebrities for best to worst dressed attires. But 2023 has fans disappointed that Lively won’t be attending.

Fans hailed Blake Lively for always sticking to and rocking the theme. One fan feels that the event should be canceled altogether now that Lively would not be attending it.

Another fan commented how Lively would have taken home the best-dressed title this year too, if she attended it.

Although one wonders if it has to do with her singing in a new movie, It Ends with Us. The movie is supposed to be an adaption of Colleen Hoover’s novel of the same name. In her absence, fans have expectations from celebrities like Beyonce or Billie Eilish to dazzle the evening.
