According to Variety, Jenna Ortega and Winona Ryder are going to work together as a mother-daughter duo in the new film. This project will reunite the young actress with Tim Burton after their Netflix show Wednesday. The sequel to the 1998 film, Beetlejuice is ready to return to the big screen. The publication has confirmed that the 20-year-old will be playing the daughter of Lydia Deetz. Moreover, Warner Bros has announced that the horror flick will arrive in theatres on Sept. 6, 2024.

As for the plot, nothing has been revealed except that many familiar faces are coming back. Michael Keaton is reprising his role as Beetlejuice and, of course, Winona Ryder as Lydia. The shooting of the project will probably begin on May 10 in London. Meanwhile, it appears that the director is highly impressed by Ortega’s portrayal of the iconic Addams daughter.

One can say that the Scream Queen has completely mastered this genre with her staring gaze and macabre thoughts. So fans should get ready for some major morbid dialogues and deadpan looks as Wednesday Season 2 is no more the best upcoming project of this actress.

Although the character of Jenna Ortega in the upcoming film has been kept under wraps, one can certainly guess what she can do given her role in the spinoff of Addams Family. The original movie ended with the eponymous bio-exorcist wishing to marry in order to create chaos in the mortal world. So it is possible that the sequel could make Oretaga his key to freedom and revenge for being stopped before.

It will be amazing to see what kind of relationship Ryder and Ortega will have, considering Lydia had a morbid demeanor. The movie will reveal many things, including whether Lydia has changed after the birth of her daughter or not.
