Finn Wolfhard recently spoke to PEOPLE about his partnership with YSL Beauty’s MYSLF Scent. In this interview, he expressed his gratitude that he got the chance to work with the French label. Through this campaign, the 20-year-old learned to love himself and finally found a fragrance that suited him. The actor never had a scent when he was just a high school and only used AXE body sprays. But when he worked with YSL, he found out that fragrance associated with his mood.
“What’s so great about YSL and the fragrance is that it is breaking that [masculine] mold a little bit,” he added. In fact, wearing MYSLF made him feel artistic because they filled it with the richness of bergamot and orange blossoms. The views of the Canadian star were quite similar to his costars Brown and Sink, who also never used fragrance before.
Some weeks back, the published author revealed she hated wearing fragrance because nothing suited her. So she made her own fragrance with her brand, Florence by Mills. Also, the Dear Zoe star stated in an interview with Instyle that fragrance was important and helped in keeping memories of the past. Well, through this discovery of the fragrance, all these young stars learned things about their personalities and how it changed them. And as for Wolfhard, the new campaign brought him out of his comfort zone.

In the same interview, Finn Wolfhard revealed he was quite vulnerable to being the face of a fashion and beauty brand. He never felt comfortable pursuing modeling or doing these kinds of projects. However, the brand made him overcome his insecurities and come out of his shell. The young musician was confident in himself and felt at ease with who he was when he posed for the new fragrance.
According to him, this campaign changes the norms of how people perceive masculinity and lets people find their own meaning for it. Just like he did and finally loved himself on the camera, donning his naturally curly raven hair and black suit.
