Personifying Barbie at its best, Margot Robbie received a whopping $50 million paycheck along with millions of praises. Alongside Ryan Gosling, she delivered one of the finest 4th wall-breaking performances for a character that before had only existed in Mattel’s boxes. Despite all it did achieve and the speck of shine it brought upon the 33-year-old’s resume there is a bummer. “I think we put everything into this one. We didn’t build it to be a trilogy or something.” The statements from Robbie thus conclude that no sequel is to come off the smash hit.

Talking to AP Entertainment, Robbie also dished out her thoughts on the same. “Original films can still hit huge at the box office.” The actress laid out the statement as her “key takeaway”. Meanwhile, she also necessitated that the story they brought onto the screen was sufficient in itself and did not require a sequel or prequel for additional depth. Remarkably, the well-gelled performances by the entire cast made Barbie the highest-grosser for Warner Bros. It raked in an impressive $1 billion in a mere 17 days after launch.
