Meghan Markle had a flourishing acting career alongside her lifestyle blog, The Tig. Her hit to fame as Rachel Zane in Suits earned her almost $50,000 per episode towards the end. After retiring from acting in 2018, the Duchess of Sussex was swept up in an array of family drama. She and her husband, Prince Harry’s exit from the royal family also cost her her Instagram account. Now that their deal with Netflix and their non-profit organization is coming to fruition with the Heart of Invictus, other brand deals like the one with Spotify did not go exactly as planned. 

But after leaving behind acting, is there something that could sustain the Suits actress substantially? Hollywood celebrities are notorious for raking in millions by doing this one thing that Markle could dip her feet into. 

The Duchess of Sussex has a new job to try on

It is no secret that megastars like Kim Kardashian and Dwayne Johnson earn millions via Instagram. Every picture or video they post on the social media app earns them around a million each, maybe even higher. Moreover, Eric Schiffer, a financial expert, told the Daily Mail that the actress would stick to her social and political beliefs before accepting brand deals. His confidence in the Suits actress’ success exuded, when he said, “I would expect her to quickly become one of the most followed accounts on Instagram… There is no reason Meghan couldn’t be earning those sorts of fees.”

He supported his confidence with the fact that if the SKIMS owner demanded $1M for her posts, there was no reason Markle couldn’t make that too, if not more. With the duchess’ popularity, her gig as a social media influencer could earn her great deals too. After exclusive reports confirmed her presence on Instagram under the handle @meghan, the mother of two might very well drop her first post. The 109,000 followers are already waiting in anticipation.

While this would be a great next step, the actress has a few other options in the works.

The royal correspondent claimed the digital sphere to be the next best endeavor. Kinsey Schofield said that Markle would have to “resort to” creating digital content because she had no other option left. Speaking to Ok Magazine in June, Schofield added, “I think that they are really struggling to figure out their identity and what their next steps are.”

But things have changed for the better for the couple. Both Markle and Prince Harry will be present in Düsseldorf, Germany, to attend the Invictus Games. They are scheduled to hold an “emotional” farewell show at the Games.  Moreover, their $100 million deal with Netflix has led them to produce a docuseries based on the games.
