In the world of show business, the journey of an actor often involves intriguing and, at times, unconventional methods of preparation. While most actors throw themselves into grueling, demanding routines for their roles, Jacob Elordi recently revealed he went another way. Mere days after recalling that he first heard about the legendary king of rock and roll, Elvis Presley, in the Disney children’s movie Lilo & Stitch, he made another startling revelation about how he prepared for the icon’s character in Priscilla.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the 26-year-old opened up about his methods of preparing to portray Elvis Presley. While most people would have expected singing or dancing lessons to nail the singer’s iconic dance moves, he ended up claiming that he ate a pound of bacon every day to embody the ‘Jailhouse Rock’ singer. The actor also claimed that Priscilla Presley was the one who had told them that “Elvis liked really burned bacon.”

While the world was still not over Austin Butler’s previous dedication to the role, his revelation was underwhelming, to say the least. After fans had seen Butler truly embody the iconic crooner in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis by perfectly imitating his voice for months after the film, fans began questioning Elordi’s acting methods. Although the Euphoria star had already slammed the comparison between both films, his revelation brought them back.
Although Jacob Elordi has given fans some unforgettably toxic characters over the years, no one expected his prep for the autobiography of Priscilla Presley to be only clogging his arteries.
Netizens question Jacob Elordi’s acting methods
After Jacob Elordi’s revelation about how he prepped for the role of Elvis Presley, the internet could not understand how that was his way of getting ready. While the comparisons between him and Austin Butler came back into the spotlight, most social media users could not move past his underwhelming acting methods.
whereas austin butler dedicated himself to the role of elvis by keeping the elvis voice for like a year and a half, jacob elordi is dedicating himself to the role of elvis by clogging his fucking arteries https://t.co/QuQuz1XMbS

Most of the comments on X (formerly Twitter) were grossed out at Jacob Elordi’s increased bacon intake and weird preparation methods. However, there were a few who thought it was funny.
Honestly I love when actors just do stupid shit because they think it'll help them 'get into character'. Make it interesting

In fairness it is harder to talk in a normal voice when it’s clogged with bacon grease

Although it might have not been the best way to go about preparing for the role, his acting speaks for itself in the newly released film, Priscilla. Now that the film is done and dusted, hopefully, the actor has gone back to his regular diet and can keep himself fit and healthy. While it may be quite a wait until fans see him back on screen, at least they have interviews and a brand-new film to keep them company.
