Dax Shepard’s first meeting with Arnold Schwarzenegger will forever be etched in his memory. Years after the event, the comedian still reminisces about it with a smile on his face during his recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. He recalled the time that he was invited for a bike ride and he even “rode motorcycles” with the Terminator. After the ride, when the group had stopped to get breakfast, Schwarzenegger made conversation with Shepard, commenting on the latter’s work which left the star baffled. However, his friends brought him off that high when they told him that they had briefed the bodybuilder before the interaction.
Though his dreams may have been crushed in the moment, just days later, Shepard received a phone call that sent him over the moon. It was Arnold Schwarzenegger on the line. After exchanging pleasantries, the 76-year-old gave the Zathura: A Space Adventure star the compliment of a lifetime. The FUBAR star told the 48-year-old that he had thoroughly enjoyed Shepard’s impression of him.
While Shepard’s might be the first impersonation that Arnold Schwarzenegger actually enjoyed and appreciated, over the years the star even tried to get rid of his German accent.

Notably, the Austrian Oak is known for his thick accent. In fact, many impressions of his features exaggerated accents, but with his passion for acting for which he declined this job opportunity, he worked hard towards getting rid of his accent. While promoting his upcoming book, Be Useful: Seven Tools For Life, on Jimmy Kimmel Live the actor admitted taking “accent removal lessons” back when he was just breaking into the industry.
However, the lessons did not work for him but it doesn’t much anymore. Though the actor felt the need to drop his accent, over time, he realized that it was what made him his authentic self and also helped him stand out from the rest. Soon after that, he focused on embracing his differences as a German in Hollywood and the rest is now history.
