With the Golden Globes wrapped up, the world is ready for the next set of awards. Thankfully, the wait for the SAG awards is not too far away. In fact, with the awards ceremony just a month away, the nominations have finally been revealed. However, Netflix’s May December seems to have fallen short and missed out on landing any nominations for the upcoming show.

In a post on X, it was revealed that the Natalie Portman project had been overlooked by the SAG awards. The news came just shortly after the romance comedy ended up landing not one, but 4 nominations at the Golden Globes. Unfortunately, the Charles Melton film did not leave with even one award. Instead, the Oppenheimer team and cast ended up sweeping the last awards show.

While the film had been nominated, people who had watched it were not too pleased with the fact that it had been considered a comedy. Many viewers even ended up taking to social media to question it. Thankfully, they ended up getting their answer from the producer of the film just a little while later. Pamela Koffler shared that the script did have its fair share of humor. Although the storyline made the humor a little hard to decipher, it was still filled with moments of laughter.

While the film may have been snubbed by the SAG Awards, there is a possibility that it could end up being nominated at the Oscars.

When May December came out last year, the internet lost its mind. While the world seems to have enjoyed the film, the recent snub by the SAG awards has everyone wondering if the film could end up in Oscar contention. Although many fans would love to see Natalie Portman and Julianne Moor get the credit they deserved, the director, Todd Haynes, has never had his work put up for the award.

While this could be the year that changes, there is no saying what could happen by the time the awards roll around.
