Hollywood stars are no strangers to success and stardom. Over the years, we have witnessed a plethora of individuals who have managed to carve a niche out. However, there are a handful who manage to take their legacies even beyond the film industry. Fitting the bill is Will Smith. Perhaps one of the most successful men in Hollywood, the Men In Black star’s legacy is not unknown to the masses. Following a successful career in hip-hop and later acting, it seems like Smith now plans to take over the video game industry as well.

Over the years, we have witnessed multiple crossovers between video game franchises and Hollywood. Various actors have voiced characters in video games while others have been huge gamers. However, on the other hand, it seems like Will Smith plans to take things a level above. The King Richard actor will be making his debut as a video game character in an upcoming PC and mobile game.

As per reports by Euro Gamer, the survival and adventure game RPG Undawn will star Smith as lead character Trey Jones. The game will be set in a post apocalyptic era. It seems like the actor is all set to star in a role similar to Gary Neville prior to the release of I Am Legend 2.

The game will feature Smith in a role of a tour guide guiding survivors and helping them navigate four years after a devastating disaster strikes our planet. Interestingly, the actor’s part in the game is similar to his role in the popular sci-fi film I Am Legend. RPG Undawn will allow the users to gather resources and use weapons as they step in to the wild.

The game will be available for both iOS and Android users and will release on 15th June globally. This will also mark the first time, Smith will star in a video game. So far, he has never voiced or done more than sitting for some cover art in Men in Black II: Alien Escape.

Actors apart from Will Smith, who have reprised their roles in video games

Smith’s role in Trey Jones has a similar arc to Gary Neville in I Am Legend. However, the actor is not the first to play a video game character similar to a movie role. Previously, a number of popular film roles have been reprised in various video games.

The late Kevin Conroy as Batman was perhaps one of the most popular roles in superhero films. Owing to the actor’s flawless portrayal, multiple Batman games featured him in the role. Next up, we have Daniel Craig as James Bond. We are no strangers to the legacy that surrounds the actor’s performance in the film franchise. Craig as 007 was featured in multiple video games, including the original James Bond 007: Blood Stone.

It would seem, Will Smith is all set to join the bandwagon of such actors.
