Back in 2022, Ryan Reynolds stated his desire to turn Wrexam AFC into a global force as the reason he and Rob McElhenney bought the football club in one of his first interviews as Wrexham boss. Since then, the journey has been nothing short of a fairytale. The Red Dragons are on an incredible streak, achieving one milestone after the other. Within just two years, Wrexham has become the talk of the town in the Welsh League. As the oldest Welsh club continued their incredible streak, the fans have another occasion to celebrate.

Adding to the list of good news in the form of promotions, wins, and sponsorships, the Red Dragons announced a new member to their impeccable ensemble.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney surely know how to run a football club. Their journey with the Red Dragons is no small feat. Not long ago, Wrexham AFC welcomed a new sponsor on board.  M&S foods have entered in a new deal with the Red Dragons to support and monetize their community initiatives. Shortly after bagging the deal, Reynolds revealed, “Our partnership with M&S Food is important to Rob and I, due to its established history with Wrexham and its commitment to supporting the local community.” As reported by M&S Food on their official website.

The deal will commence on 1st December. A commendable fact about the deal is that this is the first time the food franchise has sponsored a league team. Prior to sponsoring Wrexham, M&S foods have sponsored four UK national teams. The occasion comes after nearly a week the duo completed two hours at the Racecourse. A while ago, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney welcomed Blake Lively’s beverage brand, Betty Buzz on-board as well

While these deals are great for Wrexham’s journey, not all is good for the Red Dragons financially.

Wrexham is a club of miracles. The Red Dragons have been on a roll over the past two years. Not only are they doing great on-field, but their off-the-field ventures with Wrexham are incredible. They are among the first clubs to have their own documentary series, Welcome To Wrexham. However, they also have great financial worries. Almost as great as $12 Million.

While it is unclear if the stars actually ended up losing the estimated amount, their reactions to the loss were off the charts. The financial estimate, as great as it may seem, comes nowhere close to the emotional investment Reynolds and McElhenney have made for the football club. It was clear how these efforts have born fruit for them as the Welcome to Wrexham docuseries marked its season 2.
