After Bashing ‘Harry & Meghan’ for Display of Wealth, Fans Laud David Beckham for Keeping It Real on ‘Beckham’
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle following Megxit have faced many challenges in establishing trustworthy and beneficial connections in Hollywood. This was evident as the time to use their connections came in the form of a Spotify deal debacle and instead of putting a bandage on the wound, the couple dug their grave deeper by butting heads with David and Victoria Beckham who were once considered friends of the couple.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, who were already receiving the short end of the competitive and cut-throat industry that is Hollywood, set themselves against one of the most well-established couples in Hollywood. To make matters worse for the Sussexes, David Beckham released his docuseries on Netflix, effectively jeopardizing the title of the trending docuseries that the Californian royals once held with a single clip of him schooling Victoria Beckham.
Back when the first part of the Harry & Meghan docuseries was released in December, it led to a whole range of discussions among supporters of the royal family and of the Sussexes. But despite the contrasting opinions, one aspect of the docuseries united all. Harry & Meghan featured a scene where Meghan Markle was crying as a Hermes blanket lay in the background. Netizens could not help but point out the privilege. While the Californian royals received backlash for this reason, the Beckhams have won all hearts.

The clip ever since the premiere of the docuseries has been going viral across every social media platform and “Actually, no, that’s not the truth, Victoria,” has become an anthem of sorts. Therefore, Netflix too decided to jump on the bandwagon and the fan reactions are nothing short of comedic gold.
Fan reactions to Beckham are a contrast to Harry & Meghan
While OTT Mogul is yet to release the viewership data that would settle the debate as to which docuseries rank superior, Beckham has already emerged as a favorite. Fans found the docuseries inspiring, intriguing, and most importantly honest. All thanks to the clip of Victoria Beckham and David Beckham. The couple in the most lightearted way possible acknowledged their privelege. A trait that was evidently lacking in Harry & Meghan.
The clip of David Beckham schooling Victoria Beckham as she tried to fit into the working class spectrum has gone viral. Fans were in awe of the couple’s bickering but also appreciated how the football legend, notably worth $514 million, intervened to prevent his wife from lying about her financial privilege.

The Beckham, docuseries effectively reignited the 90s era where the football legend and the Spice Girls singer were all everyone could talk about. In the wake of the success, even Netflix has changed its bio to “If it’s not posh and becks I don’t want it,” on their Twitter handle. And to that, we can only agree.
