After Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Claims That The ‘Terminator’ Franchise “is not done,” What’s in store for the Million Dollar Franchise
With six Terminator films under the franchise, the movie has been an absolute cultural celebration for the fans. From “I’ll be back” to “Come with me if you want to live,” fans still use these phrases to date. Among the six films, Arnold Schwarzenegger starred in five, leaving out the squeal that follows Terminator 3. We saw the last film back in 2019, however, his claims changed what the franchise has in store for the future.
With the Pump Club star dropping a pleasant surprise for the fans about how “The franchise is not done,” the man behind it, James Cameron, confirmed the same back in May.

James Cameron created a world in the movie that was way beyond its time. With the movie giving us the machine versus human ahead of its time, the new installment of The Terminator might just gel with the AI fiasco of the present times. Nonetheless, according to Futurism, Cameron said in May that he has started working on a new script. He talked about it at Dell Technologies World and added that he has taken a break from finishing the script until “the direction of AI becomes clearer.”
In a conversation with SmartLess podcast in 2022, the director revealed how he would try launching the franchise with a 7th part and try exploring the AI side of things rather than the bad robot side.

But Cameron’s claim that he has started on the new script might come with a few technicalities that the fans could be concerned about. Sadly, the Terminator that we know of won’t be coming back to the screen. Earlier in July, Schwarzenegger claimed that he wouldn’t return to the film, and this is why.
Arnold Schwarzenegger’s exit from the franchise
We won’t see our favorite Terminator return on the screen. The Pump Club owner said that he wouldn’t participate in any more of the movies because of the likeliness of the film’s writing. He admitted that he did not really like the way some of the films were written. Having come a long way since the first movie and the subsequent hit of Terminator 2: Judgement Day, the actor sadly admitted this rebuttal. And since this actor is the pioneering star of the movie, it is yet to see how the new development will turn out to be.
